The differentiator
Built with safety first
Every decision here is designed to protect your family — not just promised, built into how the app works.
Try the search a kid sees
No browsing. No suggestions. No strangers.
A kid can only ever find a friend by typing their exact @username. Type anything else — a nickname, a partial match, a common name — and Kibu comes back empty on purpose.
Type any @username to see what a kid sees.
Built in, not bolted on
Every decision protects your family
HQ Security Scan
Every post a kid makes is scanned before it goes live. Parents see anything flagged, first.
Exact-username friend search
Kids can only find someone by typing their exact @username. No browsing, no suggestions, no open directory.
QR-only pairing
Kids can't create their own way into a family. They join only through a QR code or invite code a parent generates, and it expires in 24 hours.
PIN-protected billing
Subscription management is locked behind a 4-digit PIN or Face ID. Kids can never open it.
Family-only chat
The chat system is closed to family members. No external contacts, no messages from anyone outside the family.
Parent override, always
A parent can edit or delete any post, remove a friend from a kid's squad, or revoke a device's access at any time.
Granular, per kid
Friend requests, new-friend approval, and photo or text posting are each their own switch, set per kid. Turn social off entirely and a kid's friends and posts are kept — nothing is deleted, and it's back the moment it's switched on.
What we collect
Analytics are opt-in and asked for separately from any third-party sharing. We never send your kids' names, photos, or messages — only what they tap, and how the app performs. Turning it off deletes what was already collected.
What’s never sent
- A kid's name
- A kid's photos
- A kid's messages
